The White House has ordered a plan for a United States Space Academy, and the academy itself does not exist yet

Executive Order 14423 creates a NASA-led commission and gives it 120 days to propose a federal space academy. The order does not establish the school, choose its site or provide funding.

The White House has created a commission to design a proposed United States Space Academy, with the NASA administrator as its chair. Executive Order 14423 was filed for public inspection at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday.

The academy does not exist yet.

The commission has 120 days from the order's August 28 date to submit a plan. It must address governance, degree programs, leadership training, graduate service in the military or civilian government, applicant requirements, a permanent location and the legislation needed to put the proposal into effect.

Why we track the curve

We put the number in front of you that actually reaches your life. The Treasury yield curve sets the mortgage you are offered, the yield on your bond ladder, and the interest the federal government owes on the national debt. It is the price of money itself.

A stock index tells you how a basket of large companies traded today. The curve tells you what borrowing costs, everywhere it touches you. It is published in full by the Treasury that issues the debt, so every figure we show can be checked against the source. That is the kind of number we would rather show you.
